This summer has been most work and no play, but far from making me a dull girl. I’ve still enjoyed some classic summer pleasures, spent time with fabulous people and visited great places. Here is a small selection of the past 2 months. The photos are taken with Instagram (so no cred to me) and if you want to follow me I’m @lafoodgeekette.
Summer time is the best fruit and vegetables time. I can’t get enough of berries, basil, cherries and tomatoes. I will miss it so much this fall and winter. These sweet, funny multicolored tomatoes was a gift from my mother in law.
Lunch at restaurant Takao Takano. Perfect food from amuse bouche to dessert.
My friend Phillipe opened the first Banh mi Sandwich Shop in Lyon and threw a big opening party.
Dinner at Palégrié, a big favourite.
After over a year of working on the project, we finally signed the lease to our new restaurant. We still have a couple of months of renovation work to do and then we’ll open this autumn.
Dad came from Sweden to help us out with the renovation, stayed 3 weeks and we went a weekend to Beaujolais, broke some ceilings and floors in our restaurant and ate heart-shaped potatoes.
We met the people behind the delicious coffee at Mokxa Café.
No summer is complete without brunch. And the best one is in my home.
I have been trying our some recipes and am still trying out for the perfect Polish pickled cucumber.
I celebrated my 10 years in France. With cheese, wine and fabulous friends of course.
And you? What have you been up too this summer?
